Bad Times For Bradlee Van Pelt

New, 2 comments

Remember Bradlee Van Pelt? The third-string Texans quarterback with a name that made you want to punch your dearest animal? No? Well, you're probably not alone. He was signed in 2006, Kubiak's first year at the helm of the Texans, and was only on the roster at the very end of the season before he was unceremoniously released in 2007's training camp.

No big deal right? I mean, sometimes you just can't hack it in the NFL. I'm sure Van Pelt is up to some very big things in the UFL or the Arena League. I mean, how far could he have fallen? He was on an NFL roster at one point, and actually played with the Broncos in 2005.

The answer is: pretty far.

Oxford Saints fell just short against Leicester Falcons as they slipped to a 20-16 defeat.

Falcons fielded quarterback Brad van Pelt, who played professionally in the NFL with Denver Broncos and Houston Texans.

Van Pelt found the early going tough as he was intercepted by Saints cornerback Gatis Kozlouskis, but his pedigree shone through minutes later when he raced 75 yards to open the scoring for the Falcons.

Well, at least England seems like a fun place to live. Plus he got rid of the "lee" in Bradlee. Got to give him props for that. I'm guessing that when he left Colorado State to go to the NFL, he wasn't planning on throwing interceptions to anyone named "Gatis".
