According to the Houston Chronicle, the Twins are the latest team to enter the Roy Oswalt derby.
A person with knowledge of the discussions said Thursday the Minnesota Twins have shown interest in acquiring Astros righthander Roy Oswalt.
Though vague and predicable, the Twins could certainly use Oswalt if they have a means of picking up the contract. Money may be an issue with the Twins, but so is pitching.
Only Carl Pavano (3.26) and Francisco Liriano (3.54) have ERA’s under 4. And while their bullpen is a strength, the Twins undoubtedly need a third starter if they plan on going deep, or even making it to, for that matter, the playoffs.
