Half Time: Crew Exploit Dynamo Mistakes And Lack Of Creativity

Emilio Renteria and Tally Hall are really the only two players worthy of discussion after the first half of play in Columbus. Hall’s howler of a mistake led to Renteria scoring his fourth goal of the season. After seeing another replay of the goal, there is no excuse for Hall’s mistake. He made an error and was punished. However, Hall rectified his mistake in stoppage time when he came up with a huge save, holding the Crew’s lead to just one.

Columbus has really dominated possession throughout the half and been the more creative of the two teams. If Houston wants to take anything away from this game, the team will have to come up with some creativity. Dynamo Coach Dominic Kinnear will have to bring in Joseph Ngwenya and Danny Cruz to add some creativity and attack to this game. Expect to see Corey Ashe and Cam Weaver subbed out early in the second half to make room for those two attacking players.

Also of note, Dynamo defenders Mike Chabala and Bobby Boswell each picked up a yellow card in the first half. Both players will have to be careful to avoid seeing red in the second half.
