Something To Brag About For Texans

The Texans may not have any championships, they may not have a whole lot of team prestige, they may not have a playoff apperance to their name. But they are #1 in the NFL in one thing: Heat.

No, the Texans aren't taking their talents to South Beach; they did that last year. Instead, the Weather Channel conducted a study on training camp conditions based on a number of weather factors, and concluded that the Texans have the hottest training camp in the league:

Our most gruelingly hot NFL training camp, by a longshot, is in Houston.

Oppressive heat is the August norm, so much so that only 5 August days typically don't peak into the 90s. At least every other August features one day in the triple-digits. Despite having Florida's humidity, it doesn't rain nearly as much (4.5" of rain), or as often (9-10 days with rain), as it does in the Sunshine State, causing heat to build and persist.
