Report: Astros, Phillies Have Deal In Place

The ever-informative Mark Berman of MyFoxHouston is reporting that the Houston Astros have agreed to a deal with the Philadelphia Phillies that would send Roy Oswalt to the reigning National League champions. Before such deal can take form, Oswalt must waive his no-trade clause.

Sources told FOX 26 the Astros have approached Oswalt. He is aware of the deal that is on the table and the club is waiting for his response.

MLB sources told FOX 26 the Astros and Phillies have agreed on the amount of money Houston will take back in the deal and the two teams have agreed on the players Philadelphia will be sending.

Terms of the deal have not been disclosed and will likely remain secret until Oswalt’s final decision. This may be Oswalt’s only shot out of town to a contender – expect him to don a Phillies uniform in the near future.
