#Astros sending Gose to #BlueJays for IF Brett Wallace. #MLB

Excuse me while I-OH MY GOODNESS WOULDYALOOKATTHAT!!!

Wallace has been traded quite a bit, but he’s a talented prospect with a thunderous bat who could easily be the heir apparent to Lance Berkman at first base. Luckily, the ’Stros have Jeff Bagwell on the bench, who could be a great influence on Wallace.

The Crawfish Boxes weighs in on Wallace.

Brett Wallace is one of the top first base prospects in the minor leagues, and he is major league ready right now. He has enough lefthanded power for the position, projecting to hit around 20-30 homers per year, and he should hit for average as well, enough to get on base at a respectable rate. Although he used to play third base, questionable defense forced him to first, where he should be fine. While he has a good approach at the plate, he hasn't drawn many walks in the minor leagues. His approach should be similar to Chris Johnson's, and he should have the bat to carry first base next year and down the road.
