Line-Ups: Dynamo Using Youth

The Houston Dynamo are predictable looking at their younger players tonight but are starting with a rather unpredictable formation, running a 3-5-2. Here’s tonight’s starting Dynamo line-up.

F: Dominic Oduro
F: Cam Weaver
LM: Francisco Navas Cobo
CAM: Joseph Ngwenya
RM: Sammy Appiah
CDM: Adrian Serioux
CDM: Richard Mulrooney
D: Ryan Cochrane
D: Eddie Robinson
D: Craig Waibel

Bench: Mike Chabala, Tyler Deric (GK), Danny Cruz, Corey Ashe, Bobby Boswell, Lovel Palmer

Despite using younger talent, the Dynamo players and coaches feel like this game is theirs to win. Here are two notable smack-talking quotes.

Forward Dominic Oduro: ‘Mentally, we have superiority over them that we can dominate them when it comes to the game. On paper, too, we should win. That to us is an advantage, and it gives us confidence that if we play well, we can come out with three points. At the same time, it’s just another game that if you play well, you win. But if you try to relax, they will overcome you, so we have to be confident and play well.’

Head Coach Dominic Kinnear: ‘For us, it will be similar to the last game with the Open Cup, but you have to remember with injuries and [Joseph Ngwenya] being suspended [on Saturday against Columbus], some things will change, but it will be similar to what we did before.’
