It's about that time of year again, when we pin our hopes and rooting interests on 9 and 10 year old kids playing on national television.
↵That's right, it's time for Kiddie Gladiators!
↵Well, that SHOULD be a sport. Instead, it's time for the Little League World Series, live from Williamsport via ESPN. In what seems like a regular occurence, Houston may have a competitor in the midst of the spectacle.
↵The Pearland Little League team is one win away from making it to the World Series. After defeating the team from Grand Junction, Colo., Pearland just has to beat Eagle Pass, Tx. for a chance at the Big Dance.
↵More importantly, the Pearland group is led by a character out of a Michael Bay movie. Beau Orlando pitched his team past Grand Junction and then proceded to blow up a car or something. Best name I've seen this year, hands down.
↵In all seriousness, good luck to these diminutive competitors. It's a lot more fun to watch the LLWS when a team from the area is there.
