Pearland Little League VS. Houston Astros

New, 1 comment

It's an age-old question--can a great student-athlete team beat an awful professional team? Though most people generally argue with NCAA programs, I believe that Pearland Little League may put up quite a fight.

In 2008, fans questioned weather or not the Longhorns could have beaten the 0-16 Detroit Lions. What about the Blue Devils, could they have beaten the historically awful Nets last year? Personally, I don't think so. However, neither the Nets nor the Longhorns have the offense that this Pearland team possesses.

In the past two games, Pearland has scored 24 runs. It took the Astros the past nine games to reach that mark.

In the past two games, Pearland has given up six hits, and has committed just one error. In the past two games, the Astros have given up fifteen hits and committed three errors, but it really should be four (Angel Sanchez botched play).

Even with the whole "but-the-players-are-15-years-younger-and-haven't-hit-puberty" thing, these kids know how to play. And the 'Stros don't. I'll take Pearland in a sweep. Even if the kids used wood bats.
