Morgan Ensberg Really Wants To Be Verified

Twitter verifies its celebrity users, and former Astros third baseman Morgan Ensberg feels a bit left out.

@MorganEnsberg Alright guys! T-minus to see how long it takes #twitter to verify me. I pressed the return button on the form right around 1 PM EST.

This is apparently a really big deal. So much so, in fact, that Ensberg is handing out a free bat to whomever can guess the time that Ensberg's shining moment will arrive.

@MorganEnsberg Ok. The person who guesses the correct time and day, or closest to, wins a bat! Enter now! I'm guessing today at 4:32 EST! I hope I win!

Perhaps the most obvious problem that Ensberg may face in this process is that he's not really much of a celebrity anymore. Oh, he had a few productive years with Houston a while ago, but now? He's blogging. I don't think they verify celebrity bloggers.

I know, because I've tried -- 397 attempts down the drain. Gotta keep truckin' on, though I do think Ensberg will get verified before I do. Just a hunch. He's got more home runs.
