Pardon my one track mind, but... FOOTBALL. THURSDAY! As a college football blogger by trade (with a secondary addiction for college football's old timers league, the NFL), it's been a long, grueling off-season. The glory of international proper football helped the summer fly by, and a Rockets season I'd classify as expectation free after the Yao injury was also pretty enjoyable I suppose. To be fair, the Astros were my first sporting love, but this has been far more of a "watching a family member struggle with unemployment/a hard breakup" kind of stretch for them. I want nothing more in the world than to start beating Atlanta in the post-season again, but everything in due time I suppose. Ed Wade! What?!
↵As we enter the home stretch, I'll encourage folks to check out Japan vs. Hawaii for the Little League World Series championship this afternoon. I can't pretend to be down with the LLWS the way some folks are, but the championship game is always a fairly enjoyable watch. Besides, I think the subtext pretty much writes itself.
