Dynamo Quick Hits: Palmer, Playoffs and The Wiz

Some Dynamo stories for your reading pleasure.

Lovel Palmer Set To Miss Next Two Matches
In the 10th minute of this past weekend's game against the Colorado Rapids, Lovel Palmer picked up a red card following a collision with Rapids midfielder Pablo Mastroeni. Palmer was whistled for a foul on the play, and Mastroeni kicked out at Palmer while on the ground following the play. Palmer was ejected, apparently for retaliating, while Mastroeni was only issued a yellow card.

This was the second red card for Lovel Palmer and a league-leading sixth for the Dynamo. As a result of the challenge, Palmer will miss next Sunday's game due to national team duty and will serve his suspension in the Dynamo's next game against Toronto FC.

Wizards Game Rescheduled
The Houston Dynamo announced today that the team's upcoming road match against the Kansas City Wizards has been rescheduled for Wednesday, Sept. 22, at 7:30 p.m. The match will kick off at 7:30 p.m. at CommunityAmerica Ballpark in Kansas City, Kansas.

The match was originally scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 11, but was likely rescheduled due to a conflict with the Wizards stadium. The schedule adjustment means the Dynamo will face three consecutive road games Sept. 22, Sept. 25 and Oct. 2 against Kansas City, D.C. United and the Philadelphia Union, respectively.

The Dynamo are next in action on Sunday, September 5, hosting the San Jose Earthquakes at Robertson Stadium at 7:30 p.m.

Dynamo Looking Ahead To This Weekend
The start of this week's practices gives the Dynamo a chance to put the weekend's drubbing behind them as they look forward to their next match against San Jose. Houston will need a favorable result on Sunday night to have any real chance at staying in the playoff race. San Jose play a fluid and active style of soccer and will be a tough opponent for the struggling Dynamo. Putting more pressure on the match is the fact that San Jose sits one place and six points above Houston, meaning a win for either team could make or break a playoff run.

Later in the week we will preview the match-up and provide some tactical analysis leading up to this vital game.
