So far, so good. I'm two-for-two on picking awesome games for this feature. Last week, I went with Cinco Ranch/Clear Springs and the two didn't disappoint. The favored team won, with Cinco Ranch pulling out a 38-35 victory, but no one expected it to be that close. Not every game can feature two overtimes like Week 1, but this was a pretty good substitute.
↵Now, for this week, we go with a Class 4A showdown as Richmond Foster takes on Waller. In 2009, Foster lost five regular-season games, four of which came on the road, which is important because this week's game will be their first road contest of the season. The Falcons are 2-1, with their only loss coming at home to Fort Bend Travis by a score of 10-3 in Week 1. They're averaging just over 250 yards a game rushing and 6.11 yards per carry. They're also averaging just 14.6 points allowed per game and have intercepted six passes.
↵Waller (1-1) pulled out a nail-biter against Rosenberg Terry last week 22-21 as David McDade scored on a 2-yard run with just over a minute left to play in the fourth quarter. Waller went for two and the victory as McDade ran in the two-point conversion attempt. The Bulldogs only gained 224 yards against Terry and most of that came through the air, so it'll be a test of their passing attack vs. Foster's secondary in this one.
