Texans Week Three Vs. Dallas: The Battle For Texas

The Texans will host the Dallas Cowboys in a game where they can pretty much step on the throat of their beleaguered 0-2 visitors. The game will start at 12:00 CT and be the lead game on FOX, where Joe Buck will try to make me want to stab him more with everything he says. If you're a non-TV viewing fan, for whatever reason, your radio stations of choice are Sports Radio 610 AM, 100.3 KILT FM, or La Tremenda 1010 AM.

The Texans picked up some more steam with a furious comeback win over the Redskins, losing only James Casey in the process as it turns out Andre Johnson is quite okay, as anyone who watched the end of the game could tell you. The Cowboys will be the most talented rushing attack the Texans have faced, to date, but have also had massive problems along the offensive line early on, and the Bears stifled them last week to the tune of 36 yards on 20 carries Mike Jenkins and Jason Witten are also not locks to play in this game, further helping the home team's cause.

Our big storylines here all involve usurping the Cowboys role as Texas' football team. A loss for them would cripple their playoff chances, and a win for the Texans would get them off to the first 3-0 start in franchise history. Also there's the little matter of complexes: superiority and inferiority. Put the over/under on posts MDC spends fisking someone for this week at two. Look for a lot of throwing on both sides as neither passing defense has been good at all thus far.

Depending on where you go, the Texans have generally been favored by three points or so by handicappers early. We'll see where that goes from here. I wouldn't be surprised if it goes up.
