What's On Television Today: January 1st, 2011

A happy new year from SB Nation Houston to you and yours. Like most people, I took the occasion to get pretty rip-roaringly drunk. So it's more like "What's On Television Now" because of that. But you don't mind, right? I did look pretty cool last night. Anyway, here's all your hangover football:

Bowl Games
Rose Bowl: Wisconsin Badgers vs. TCU Horned Frogs -- ABC, 3:30 PM -- TCU's chance to show a national audience that it can still beat good teams and be wildly ignored despite that.
Capital One Bowl: Michigan St. Spartans vs. Alabama Crimson Tide -- ESPN, 12 PM -- Funny how this one is on ESPN despite actually having two teams that were, you know, good. While ABC picked Florida-Penn St.

Other Bowl Games
Outback Bowl: Florida Gators vs. Penn St. Nittany Lions -- ABC, 12 PM -- The last game that Urban Meyer will coach for at least eight weeks.
Birmingham City vs. Arsenal -- Fox Soccer Channel, 12 PM -- The one soccer game I didn't oversleep today.

Hole Games
TicketCity Bowl: Northwestern Wildcats vs. Texas Tech Red Raiders -- ESPNU, 11 AM -- I think there's an Adam James joke in this post somewhere but I'm too drunk to express it.
Gator Bowl: Michigan Wolverines vs. Mississippi St. Bulldogs -- ESPN2, 12:30 PM -- Thankfully, since this game includes Michigan's defense and Adam James' father, it can be safely ignored.
Fiesta Bowl: Oklahoma Sooners vs. Connecticut Huskies -- ABC, 7 PM -- Worst autobid team in BCS era? Check. Matt Millen? Check. Reasons to watch this game? None. Catch up on your sleep.
