While most of the Cougar faithful will remember January 14, 2011 as the day that Case Keenum returned for a sixth year, for one UH athlete, that day will forever mean much, much more.
↵Today, Houston infielder David Murphy received his final treatment for acute lymphoid leukemia, which is now in remission. He was diagnosed at the age of 18.
↵After taking a redshirt, Murphy has contributed on the infield the last two years, including hitting .271 in 140 at bats in 2009, maintained a 3.5 GPA, and continued cancer treatments. I just made everyone reading this article feel lazy.
↵A heartfelt congratulations to Murphy. We wish you the best of luck in the future, on and off the baseball diamond.
