The Astros farm system is slowly but surely showing signs of life yet again. The Astros are returning to what made them a perennial playoff team year after year.

Bobby Heck and Ed Wade are rebuilding a system once forgotten amongst an era defined by the signings of Woody Williams and Preston Wilson.

With reality becoming harder to ignore in the front office., the "Lastros" are creeping back into the realm of respectable scouting and developing. And though the 'Stros have a ways to go, Keith Law's recent rankings has them out of the league's dweller.

27. Houston Astros
The Astros are slowly getting better through the draft and some dabbling in Latin America, but it sure would have been nice to see them get more in return for Roy Oswalt.

No, this ranking is nothing to brag about. But it's something to be happy, err, happier, about.

The league's new dweller system? Hello Milwaukee Brewers. This ranking, however, was expected; the Brew-crew traded a good amount of top tier prospects for Shaun Marcum and Zach Greinke as their 2011 ball club is going all in.
