The Texas A&M Aggies and Texas Tech Red Raider offenses slowed down just a little bit after each team scored a touchdown on their opening drive. Both teams then went onto exchange field goals with Texas A&M kicking a 45-yard field goal and then followed by Texas Tech kicking a 49-yard field goal to tie the game at 10 points apiece.
The latest scoring drive was by Texas A&M who drove down the field on seven plays for 73 yards and it only took them a mere 2:23 to get into the endzone on a Cyrus Gray 16 yard touchdown run. Gray rushed the ball five times for 43 yards on that drive and those carries were the first touches of the game for Gray.
Texas Tech went on to respond to Texas A&M's touchdown by kicking a 27-yard field goal to make the score 17-13.
