Legendary Oakland Raiders owner Al Davis passed away Saturday at the age of 82. Davis was a legendary figure in the NFL history and was instrumental in merging the AFL and NFL to help move the league forward for what it has become today. The youngest franchise in the NFL is the Houston Texans and the importance that Davis had on this league is not lost on Texans owner Bob McNair who released a statement on the passing of Davis:

He built a great tradition with the Raiders. We are going to miss his innovative thinking. Our condolences go to his family and the Raiders organization."
