Los Angeles Vs. Houston Final Score: Landon Donovan Leads Galaxy To Title

Landon Donovan's goal in the 72nd minute provided the difference in a 1-0 victory over Houston to win the MLS Cup. The victory also gave David Beckham his first MLS championship in the final game of the legendary five-year contract with Los Angeles.

It was Beckham who delivered a solid header to Robbie Keane who eventually fed Donovan for the winning goal who earned MVP honors. The Galaxy assembled a high profile roster that led to a perfect record at home on the season. Donovan scored goals in each of the last three games by the Galaxy while Beckham finished with four assists during the playoffs.

Houston came into the game riding a nine game winning streak but had struggled on offense after losing Brad Davis to a season ending quadriceps injury in the Eastern Conference championship.
