Let the Matthew Stephen Leinart era begin. Matt Leinart connected with Joel Dressen in the second quarter for a 20-yard touchdown reception to give the former USC quarterback his first touchdown of the season and the Texans the lead back over the Jaguars. The touchdown pushed the lead to 14-10.
Here is the video of Leinart's touchdown pass to Dressen if you missed it:
A Jonathan Joseph interception (which worked like an arm punt for Jaguars' QB Blaine Gabbert) helped give the Texans good field position and Neil Rackers a chance to put a field goal through the uprights for a 17-10 lead.
Jaguars' kicker Josh Scobee attempted a 53-yard field goal late in the second quarter to get Jacksonville back to within 4 at 17-13, but the kick went wide left and the Jaguars are still down a touchdown.'
Late in the second quarter Matt Leinart was sacked and suffered an injury as he was holding his ribs. The Texans staff escorted Leinart to the locker room and 3rd string QB TJ Yates has entered the game. More details as they come across.
