Sam Houston State Vs. Montana State: Bearkats Rolling In First Half, Lead 21-6

Sam Houston State avoided the sluggish start that nearly cost them a second round loss last week against Stony Brook with 21 first half points against Montana State, as the Bearkats lead 21-6 at halftime.

Sam Houston State's Brian Bell has been an unremarkable 4 of 10 passing for 63 yards and an interception, but has thrown two touchdown passes to Richard Sincere and Grant Merrit and took a quarterback draw on a 3rd and 5 at midfield 54 yards for a rushing touchdown. The Bearkat defense has held Montana State to two field goals and blocked a third attempt seconds before halftime, twice stopping would-be touchdown drives for the Bobcats inside the SHS 10-yard-line.

After struggling for consistent drives in the first half, Montata State drove 60 yards to close the second quarter entirely on the arm of quarterback DeNarius McGee before the Bobcat field goal attempt was blocked from the Sam Houston 22-yard-line.
