Andre Johnson Injury Update: WR Runs Well In Practice But Will Not Play Sunday

In good news for a Houston Texans team that has been absolutely bedeviled by injuries this season, All-Pro WR Andre Johnson's recovery from his second hamstring injury  has pleased the Texans' medical staff, even though he will not play Sunday against Carolina:

 Houston Texans
Kubiak on : "He won't go (vs Carolina). He'll be out. He ran very well today...We're very close to having Andre back on the field"

Johnson has already missed seven games this season with hamstring injuries, so Houston will likely be incredibly careful in bringing back their star WR.

Ideally, they would wait until the playoffs, when Johnson's ability to stretch the field and convert on third downs will be essential, to bring him back.

However, they would undoubtedly like to give Johnson and rookie QB T.J. Yates some game repetitions in the last three weeks of the regular season.
