The Sam Houston State Bearkats have only had tickets on sale since Saturday for their FCS Division I Championship game against the North Dakota State Bison, but according to an AP article via WDAY in Fargo, the event is already sold out and then some.
Each team was allotted 4,000 tickets for the game and have asked for more. The NCAA is scrambling to add more seats to the stadium in Frisco, Texas, as they are experiencing much higher interest than expected for the game. The Frisco stadium normally only holds 20,086 for football games.
Tickets at NDSU are still being processed, and will continue to be so through Thursday. North Dakota is awarding tickets to requests based on a points system. NCAA representatives have reportedly been stunned by the level of interest in the game.
