What's On Television Today: February 2nd, 2011

What to watch, stop watching during a rolling blackout, then start watching again later today...

Local
Houston Rockets @ Utah Jazz -- 8 PM, FS Houston -- Sure, things are depressing, but can they get depressinger?
Rice Owls @ Tulane Green Wave -- 7 PM, untelevised -- I know what you're thinking, "why can't we drive up to Tulane and turn this into the Owl's Nest?" Well, because it's cold, that's why.

NBA
New Orleans Hornets @ Oklahoma City Thunder -- 7 PM, NBA TV -- Two teams with star players and a limited history of success? Looks like we found two teams we aren't sick of yet!
Chicago Bulls @ Los Angeles Clippers -- 9:30 PM, NBA TV -- Ditto.

Hockey
New York Islanders @ Pittsburgh Penguins -- 6 PM, Versus -- Lets all try and get over the collective shock we're feeling. Can't believe Versus is televising a Penguins game.

Football
Stoke City vs. Liverpool -- 2 PM, Fox Soccer Channel -- Fernando Torres may be gone, but I'm sure Liverpool can find another one.
Birmingham City vs. Manchester City -- 1:30 PM, ESPN3.com -- Birmingham needs this game to stay above the relegation zone. Manchester needs this game to stay in the top four. I think we all know which side is more talented here.
Blackburn Rovers vs. Tottenham Hotspur -- 1:55 PM, ESPN3.com -- Tottenham can hold onto that coveted Europa league spot if they keep winning games against opponents like this. But nobody really wants them to.
Blackpool vs. West Ham United -- 1:55 PM, ESPN3.com -- Might be your last chance to see West Ham flail incompetently before they fall out of the Premier League.
Cesena vs. Catania -- 1:40 PM, ESPN3.com -- I'd like to come up with a reason for you to watch this game, I really would.
Chievo vs. Napoli -- 1:40 PM, ESPN3.com -- It's all about Morgan De Sanctis.
Palermo vs. Juventus -- 1:40 PM, ESPN3.com -- Alessandro Mati, welcome to your new mess.

College Basketball
Duke Blue Devils @ Maryland Terrapins -- 8 PM, ESPN -- Kyle Singler has been a Blue Devil for 35 years. If you don't believe it, prove me wrong.
Syracuse Orange @ Connecticut Huskies -- 6 PM, ESPN -- Kemba Walker looks to strengthen his Naismith credentials by taking down a team that looked a lot more impressive two weeks ago.
Marquette Golden Eagles @ Villanova Wildcats -- 6 PM, ESPNU -- My Mouphtaou Yarou just fell asleep, hold on.
Nebraska Cornhuskers @ Kansas St. Wildcats -- 7 PM, ESPN3.com -- Jacob Pullen: probably wishing he was in the NBA right now.
USC Trojans @ UCLA Bruins -- 10 PM, Fox Sports Southwest -- Assuming the Rockets game hasn't gone to overtime again, thats a paddlin'
Missouri Tigers @ Oklahoma St. Cowboys -- 8 PM, ESPN2 -- Kelton Page seems like some sort of weird robot designed by Kevin Pelton to make me remember his name.
San Diego St. Aztecs @ Colorado St. Rams -- 8 PM, CBS College Sports -- Gary Kubiak will be on hand to scout for tight ends.
Michigan St. Spartans @ Iowa Hawkeyes -- 7:30 PM, Big Ten Network -- If you're looking to get your struggling team on track in conference, there's nothing like Iowa to set things right.
Georgia Bulldogs @ Arkansas Razorbacks -- 8 PM, ESPN3.com -- Rotnei Clarke does all the little things, then he does all the big things too. Then after that, he becomes governor, because governors always get the best cake.
Virginia Tech Hokies @ North Carolina St. Wolf Pack -- 6 PM, ESPN2 -- Over/under on Jimmy V references starts at 3.5.
Baylor Bears @ Oklahoma Sooners -- 2 PM, ESPN3.com -- The Perry Jones watch has hit Oklahoma. They've asked him to sign the guestbook.
Rutgers Scarlet Knights @ St. John's Red Storm -- 8 PM, ESPN3.com -- Seeing red. Ha-ha!
Seton Hall Pirates @ West Virginia Mountaineers -- 6 PM, ESPN3.com -- Upcoming bad Bermanism: John Flowers For Algernon.
Tulsa Golden Hurricane @ Memphis Tigers -- 6 PM, CBS College Sports -- You can tell this game was picked out before everyone realized that Memphis wasn't that good.
Clemson Tigers @ Virginia Cavaliers -- 8 PM, ESPNU -- And really, that's the purpose of ESPNU: it's the place to put second-tier ACC schools that needed their games broadcast for some reason.
South Florida Bulls @ Providence Friars -- 6 PM, ESPN3.com -- Augustus Gilchrist goes to the home of God Shammgod looking for answers.
South Carolina Gamecocks @ LSU Tigers -- 7 PM, ESPN3.com -- These aren't your Big Baby/Tyrus Thomas LSU Tigers, that's for sure.
Nevada Wolf Pack @ Utah State Aggies -- 10 PM, ESPN2 -- This would have been a great game four years ago. Too bad Nevada just sucks out loud now.
Mississippi St. Bulldogs @ Alabama Crimson Tide -- 7 PM, ESPN3.com -- It should be an interesting end-game Senario Hillman for these two teams.
