Cougar's Comeback Falls Just Short

Tulsa, OK (Sports Network) – Scottie Haralson hit six three-pointers and finished with 22 points to lift the Tulsa Golden Hurricane over the Houston Cougars by a 76-71 final in overtime of a Conference USA clash.

Justin Hurtt also netted 22 points for Tulsa (13-10, 6-3 C-USA), which received 16 points from Steven Idlet.

Maurice McNeil poured in 21 points in the narrow loss for Houston (11-11, 3-6), which has lost its last five outings. Darian Thibodeaux added 15 points for the Cougars, while Zamal Nixon added 12 points off the bench.

Tulsa, which drilled 10 three-pointers in the clash, led 37-29 at intermission.

Tulsa trailed 66-63 with just under nine seconds remaining in regulation when Hurtt nailed a clutch three-pointer to force overtime.

In the extra session, Hurtt had a pair of key buckets to help the Golden Hurricane earn their third consecutive triumph.
