Dynamo Transactions: Houston Dynamo Ship Oduro To Chicago

According to the Houston Chronicle's Jose De Jesus Ortiz, the Houston Dynamo have dealt maligned striker Dominic Oduro to the Chicago Fire for forward Calen Carr. Oduro muffed an extremely easy tying chance in last Saturday's match with the Union, and that may have eroded the last leg he had to stand on with the front office.

Carr, who has been recovering from a concussion, has nine goals in 81 matches with the Fire. If he cannot be medically cleared, the Dynamo will instead receive a conditional pick in a future MLS Super Draft.

Oduro had been acquired from New York Red Bull in 2009 for two draft picks, and had fallen out of favor with the club to the point where they let him become a free agent. They re-signed Oduro earlier this month only after he could not find an overseas contract. Most of the reaction to Oduro coming back was negative, so Dynamo fans are understandably pretty happy with this move despite the fact that they didn't get much in return.
