The Astros are last in the Grapefruit League standings thus far, standing just a 2-8 after a week of spring training. They will look to improve their MLB-worst record against the Mets and Red Sox. Hey, at least the record doesn't count...yet.
Nelson Figueroa gets the start opposite of Oliver Perez and the Mets, and Aneury Rodriguez will start against Josh Beckett and the Red Sox.
Humberto Quintero and J.R. Towles are looking to earn an opening day starting job; Quintero is getting the start against the Red Sox while J.R. Towles will handle the catching duties against the Mets.
Trade rumors have swirled since Castro went down, but unless a trade is made, Quintero will presumably be the opening day catcher.
