Can Norm MacDonald's New Sports Show Make Us Forget Onion SportsDome Happened?

Comedy Central's first foray into the world of sports comedy did not end well, as Onion's SportsDome relied far too much on parodying SportsCenter and never came up with an actual straight man to reel in it's circus of jokes. In a way, they were almost too clever for their viewing audience.

They've now gone to almost the exact opposite path with Norm MacDonald, SNL alum and veteran comedian. The master of the non sequitur. Will it pay off? Tough to say, MacDonald hasn't had a great track record on television. At least not recently with shows like Norm and A Minute With Stan Hooper. In an interview with AM New York, MacDonald clearly showed the direction the show would be working on in one short answer:

Are there any particular sports you'll be making fun of? No, I won't be making fun of any sports, because that's the first instinct. I'll probably make fun of the WNBA.
