The Texas Longhorns (30-9, 7th-ranked in Baseball America Poll), beat up on the Kansas Jayhawks (19-20) for the second consecutive game Friday, to the tune of a 9-1 final. Thursday night the Jayhawks faired even worse, dropping a 9-0 shutout to the Longhorns.
↵For the Longhorns on Friday night, first baseman Tant Shepherd led the 15-hit Texas attack, going 4-5 with three doubles. Third baseman Erich Weiss added three hits of his own, including two doubles and three RBIs. Cole Green tossed seven shutout innings, allowing six hits.
↵Longhorn pitching has excelled in recent weeks. Texas hasn't given up more than two runs in a game since a 7-6 loss at Baylor on April 9, and have won 13 of their last 15 games,
↵Texas will look for the sweep this afternoon in Lawrence, then the team returns to Austin for a five-game homestand where they will host Texas State, Oklahoma, and Prairie View A&M.
