2011 NFL Draft Prospects: Bengals Select Andy Dalton 35th Overall

Andy Dalton was a winner throughout his career for the TCU Horned Frogs, and the Katy native will now take his game up to the NFL level where the Bengals have selected him with the 35th overall pick in the 2011 NFL Draft.

The Bengals were in the middle of a nasty dispute with Carson Palmer, who has threatened to retire if he isn't traded. Dalton has been described as the most NFL ready QB in this draft despite playing in a spread system, and while his winning pedigree can't be questioned, the Bengals have to be hoping that they can at least develop him a bit behind Palmer.

Red hair goes well with Bengal stripes, I hear. It worked out well for Boomer Esiason anyway. The Bengals will pair Dalton with wide receiver A.J. Green and hope they can replace the old guard of Palmer and Chad Ochocinco with a new one.

You would be wise not to bet against Andy Dalton, if you're a Bengals fan. He's overcome the odds before.
