That conference record left them in a tie with Tulsa, but Houston's series victory over the Golden Hurricane gives them the regular season title.Houston's overall record improved to 41-14 on the year, including wins over ranked opponents Oklahoma State, LSU (twice), Fresno State, Baylor (twice) and Texas A&M.
The Coogs are led by a trio of pitchers with sub-2.00 ERAs, including senior Amanda Crabtree's 0.92 ERA, 18-7 record, and 303 strikeouts in 174 2/3 innings pitched. Junior slugger Melissa Gregson's 16 homers and 43 RBI pace the offense.
Next up for Houston is the conference tournament this weekend in Greenville, North Carolina.
