Racking up accolades is something that Houston Texans wide receiver Andre Johnson is probably used to. For Arian Foster, this off-season has been littered with them. Both men recently earned the praise of NFL.com (Foster) and ESPN.com (Johnson).
For The Master of the Namaste, NFL.com writer Pat Kirwan named Foster as one of the five best running backs in the NFL. As if that weren't enough, Kirwan also said Foster was the only one on the rise. It's certainly understandable given he's only 24 and entering his second season as a starter. To the delight of Houston fans, Foster can most certainly improve his game which makes his 2011 season highly intriguing.
As for Mr. Johnson, ESPN.com football writers voted him the third best offensive player in the league (minus quarterbacks). Of the eight divisional bloggers, only Bill Williamson had him outside the top-five (in sixth) while Mike Sando and James Walker had him atop their respective ballots. It shouldn't be too surprising since Johnson took home top receiver honors from ESPN back in March. Not to be forgotten, Foster was also on the top offensive player list in a tie for 14th.
While it's always nice to see great (Houston) play recognized, I just can't help but wish the defense were better so these two All-Pros could show off their talents on the national stage in January.
