I feel bad for Roger Clemens.
↵I really do. After his late career surge and exploits in the 2005 season, there were legitimate debates about whether he was the best pitcher of the last 50 years. Now, we know that was all bunk, since he was probably pharmaceutically enhanced, unlike Sandy Koufax and the like.
↵Well, things got worse for Ol' Roger when his suit against Brian McNamee was thrown out. In case you'd blocked this whole sordid thing from your mind, McNamee was the trainer who kept the bloody steroid syringes he'd jabbed into Clemens' behind, just so he could prove years later that Roger was a steroid user.
↵Clemens then sued McNamee for defamation in a suit that was widely mocked at the time, never had much of a chance and eventually got him called before Congress. That also got him tried for perjury and he now faces time in prison if he's convicted.
↵Boy, though, he sure was good in that extra-inning game against the Braves, wasn't he?
