The Dynamo are in San Jose, California this Saturday night, looking to build some positive momentum after what was a poor month of April. Following last week's draw to FC Dallas, the Dynamo will need to get three points on the road against the Earthquakes to jump start June and get their season back on track.
Points may be hard to come by following the departure of Koke, who will go down in Dynamo history as a transfer bust, and left the team midweek to return to Greece. Both teams will also forced to field teams affected by the CONCACAF Gold Cup, which kicks off Sunday in Dallas. The Earthquakes will be without former Dynamo forward Chris Wondolowski, and Houston will be without Canadian defender Andre Hainault, as well as Jermaine Taylor and JeVaughn Watson, who are with the Jamaican National Team.
The absence of three key players puts Dynamo head coach Dominic Kinnear in a bit of a bind, but look for Houston to run a 4-4-2 with Geoff Cameron filling in on the back line and Colin Clark, Brad Davis, Lovel Palmer, and Danny Cruz forming the midfield. Dynamo captain and leader Brian Ching continues to be out of action with a foot injury, so Cam Weaver and Will Bruin are expected to start for Houston up top.
