If the Houston Aeros are going to win their third championship, they're going to need two straight victories over the Binghamton Senators to do it. The Aeros dropped a 4-2 decision to Binghamton Saturday night, putting them in a 3-2 hole in their best of seven series for the Calder Cup.
↵Zack Smith scored two goals for the Senators in a game that featured four combined first-period goals. After being outshot by the Senators 37-21 in a frenetic game four, the Aeros made sure they had plenty of scoring opportunities Saturday night, outshooting Binghamton 43-27.
↵Houston set the pace for much of the second period, but a power play goal by Smith with 8.5 seconds left in the frame gave the Senators a 3-2 lead heading into the intermission.
↵The Aeros now return to Houston with a chance to win two straight games and a championship in front of their home fans. Game six will take place at Toyota Center Tuesday night, where the puck will drop at 7:05. If necessary, a decisive game seven will be played in Houston on Thursday night.
