Kareem Jackson Still Appearing In The Wrong News Stories

With all of this lockout free time, Kareem Jackson has had quite the offseason. We all know about his cockfighting incident in the Domican Republic and his unintentional promotion of the Exxxotica Expo. After a subpar rookie season, Jackson really hasn't been helping his own cause.

Bill Barnwell took notice in his piece on the NFL's 25 least valuable players, and Kareem cracked the list at number six overall. While the rankings are supposed to take playing time, expectations, and salary into account, Barnwell had this to say about the Texans' cornerback:

Even the best cornerbacks usually look pretty bad as rookies, but Jackson allowed a league-worst 11.1 yards per pass attempt last season. If there's ever a Sporcle quiz on matching a receiver's name to the back of his jersey, Jackson will ace it.

Harsh words indeed for Jackson, but he certainly didn't play up to his first-round potential last year when the Texans needed dire help in defending the pass. They are currently pursuing free agent Nnamdi Asomugha, but his price tag is reported to be "through the roof." Whether Jackson can emerge as a talented corner in this league or not, that's still to be seen.

It's also worth noting that Amobi Okoye is 22nd on Barnwell's list.
