The Red Sox invaded Minute Maid Park this weekend in more ways than one. They chanted. They screamed and booed. They even got Sweet Caroline played in Sunday's matinee. It was like a home game for Boston most of the time.
↵Well, that all rubbed Michael Bourn the wrong way. This is what Bourn told Brian McTaggart:
↵↵↵“Their fan base is huge,” Bourn said. “When we are playing the Red Sox, you hear ‘Let’s go Red Sox!’ loud. I’m like, ‘We’re in our home stands.’ I want to hear, ‘Let’s go Astros!’ I don’t want to hear a visiting team overtaking our team. We have to get our fans to come out and the only way we can do that is by winning.”
↵
Losing is a disease, as contagious as syphillis.
↵Wait, let's start over again. You're a bunch of lollygaggers...
↵Scratch that, one more time...oh, right, what I was going to say is the only way he can get fans behind the team again is to win. And, looking at what he's done, Michael Bourn isn't the problem with this team. He's doing everything in his power to make that happen. His teammates just aren't getting it done around him.
↵Is that Bourn's fault? No, but I can see why he's frustrated and those poor, poor Red Sox fans go the brunt of his ire.
