Football Outsiders Predicts Texans Win AFC South

This might be old news to some, but it's important nonetheless.

↵

The writers over at Football Outsiders have released their annual FBO Almanac, and our Houston Texans have the highest probability of winning the division. They are projecting an average of nine wins for the Texans this year, and the remaining win totals and respective percentages are as follows:

↵
↵

Super Bowl Contender (11+ wins): 27%

↵

Playoff Contender (9-10 wins): 31%

↵

Mediocrity (7-8 wins): 25%

↵

Loserville (4-6 wins): 15%

↵

On the Clock (0-3 wins): 1%

↵
↵

The Colts are listed at 7.8 wins, while Jacksonville's projected win total is 7.2. Matt Hasselbeck and the Titans are supposed to bring up the rear with only 5 wins.

↵

How much stock you put into preseason predictions is completely up to you, but I respect Football Outsiders' work each year and am pleased to see what they think of the Texans. They couldn't have been much closer last year when they predicted 5.6 wins for Houston, and let's hope they are right again this season.
