No. 22 Texas A&M leads No. 23 Louisiana Tech 21-0 after the first quarter of Saturday night's action. The Aggies didn't waste much time attacking La. Tech, scoring touchdowns on their first two drives.
Christine Michael broke a 40-yard touchdown run on the first possession to give the Aggies an early advantage. Then, freshman quarterback Johnny Manziel and wide receiver LeKendrick Williams hooked up for a 20-yard touchdown pass to extend the A&M lead. Toward the end of the quarter, Manziel ran the ball into the end zone himself with a 15-yard scamper.
That, of course was a rushing touchdown, but Manziel has been perfect throwing the ball, going 7-of-7 for 90 passing yards and a touchdown toss.
La. Tech struggled mightily to move the ball, managing just 34 yards of total offense and one first down in the entire quarter. This game was originally scheduled to be the season opener, but Hurricane Isaac forced it to be rescheduled.
