The Texas Tech Red Raiders are a ranked football team for the second time under head coach Tommy Tuberville. After a dominating 49-14 win over then-No. 5 West Virginia, Tech (5-1) jumped to No. 18 in the latest Associated Press Top 25.

The Red Raiders rolled up 676 yards against West Virginia and held the powerful Mountaineer offense to 38 points below its previous average per game. Texas Tech's five wins in 2012 matches its total for the season in 2011.

LSU bounced back from a loss at Florida with a 23-21 win over South Carolina and moved up to No. 6 in the poll. The Gamecocks fell from No. 3 to No. 9. Texas A&M moved up two spots to No. 22 after escaping Shreveport, La., with a 59-57 win over the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs.

The Texas Longhorns took the biggest hit, falling out of the poll from No. 15 after an embarrassing 63-21 loss to Oklahoma in the Red River Rivalry. The Sooners moved up from No. 13 to No. 10.
