The No. 22 Texas A&M Aggies got well on their way towards covering the 14-point spread in their favor with an offensive explosion led by Johnny Manziel that gave them a 42-7 lead over the Auburn Tigers after the first half.
On the opening drive of the game, Manziel threw a 16-yard touchdown pass to Ryan Swope. It was the first of two touchdown connections between the two in the first quarter, as Manziel hit Swope for a 19-yard touchdown just over nine minutes later. Between the two touchdown passes, though, Manziel got a score of his own, rushing in to the end zone from six yards.
Christine Michael made it a 28-point lead with a 34-yard touchdown run in the second quarter, but Auburn closed the gap with a one-yard touchdown run by Tre Mason. That gap expanded back to 28, though, as Manziel rushed in for the second time in the half, this time from two yards out, before a 7-yard touchdown run by Ben Malena pushed the lead to 35.
After the first half, Manziel has 230 yards passing and leads the Aggies with 70 yards rushing.
