The LSU Tigers fell out of the AP poll's top five this week after a 14-6 loss to the Florida Gators on Saturday at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium in Gainesville. Ranked No. 4 last week, the Tigers now found themselves at No. 9 in this week's AP Top 25 poll.
Despite a 48-45 loss to the West Virginia Mountaineers, the Texas Longhorns dropped just four spots in this week's poll, coming in at No. 15. The Texas A&M Aggies, 30-27 winners over Ole Miss, jumped back into the AP poll at No. 22.
Alabama continued its reign at the top of the AP poll, with the Crimson Tide once again garnering all 60 first-place votes. The Oregon Ducks held steady at the No. 2 position, but a series of upsets on Saturday, including the LSU loss, shuffled the rest of the top five.
No. 4 Florida State and No. 5 Georgia also lost on Saturday, allowing South Carolina, Florida and West Virginia to climb into slots 3-5. Florida State is now ranked No. 12, and Georgia is No. 14 after their defeats.
