The Texas A&M Aggies' defense has started to earn the old school moniker of 'the wrecking crew' back again in 2012. While Johnny Manziel and the electric Aggies offense have generated all the press for the upstart team, the defense has been quietly chugging away all season long and has helped lead them to the 6-2 record that they hold, which includes an undefeated four-game streak away from College Station.
Defensive coordinator Mark Snyder has helped create the No. 34 defense in the nation, after the Aggies finished No. 70 in 2011. They've held strong offenses in Florida and LSU down even as the team has lost, and they've been even better in their wins.
The players on the team credit Snyder with giving them the energy on game day with his attitude, via the Houston Chronicle:
"He's always joking around and laughing, and he creates energy," said junior defensive end Damontre Moore said. "You can't help but be excited around him."
The new Wrecking Crew and the rest of the Aggies team will face off against Mississippi State on Saturday, seeking their seventh win of the season.
