The Houston Texans are 3 1/2-point favorites over the Detroit Lions for their Week 12 contest, according to OddsShark.com.
The Texans nearly suffered their second blemish of the 2012 season in Week 11, but escaped with a 43-37 overtime victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars. Still, they've outscored opponents by 11 points per game this season, and are 7-3 against the spread.
The Lions have fallen off this year after making the playoffs with a 10-6 record in 2011. They've lost two straight game to divisional opponents to drop to 4-6. Four of their six losses have come by one score, but so have three out of their four wins. It is also worth noting that Detroit has lost eight consecutive games on Thanksgiving Day.
The over/under is set at 50 points. On average, neither team exceeds that total, but the Texans have on five different occasions, while the Lions have played four such games.
The Texans and Lions are slated for an 11:30 a.m. CT kickoff on Thursday.
