FCS bracket 2012: Sam Houston State makes second straight championship game

The Bearkats survived a massive comeback effort from Eastern Washington to secure a rematch against North Dakota State down in Frisco, TX, on Jan. 5.

It looked like Sam Houston State was going to coast to a win on Saturday night against Eastern Washington, but a furious rally by the Eagles in the second half erased a 35-0 deficit. However, the Bearkats were able to hold on for a 45-42 win on the road in Cheney, Wash., and clinch their second straight berth in the FCS championship game.

It's only fitting that Sam Houston State gets another crack at the team that beat them in the final last year. North Dakota State beat Georgia Southern, 23-20, at home on Friday night to book a return trip to Frisco. The Bison survived a back-and-forth second half, scoring the winning touchdown on a quarterback draw with three minutes remaining.

The Bearkats and Bison will square off in the FCS championship game on Saturday, Jan. 5, in Frisco, Texas. You can see the whole interactive playoff bracket here, courtesy of the NCAA.
