2012 NBA schedule: Rockets face two division leaders in the West

The Houston Rockets will play the top two teams in the Western Conference this weekend.

The Houston Rockets will face two of the three Western Conference division leader's this weekend in what should prove as a good measuring stick for how much progress the team has made.

Their first game is on Friday night on the road against the San Antonio Spurs.The Spurs are 22-8 on the season and lead the Southwest division, ahead of the Rockets by five games. The game will start at 8:30 p.m. ET, with coverage Fox Sports Southwest.

Houston will return home for a game on Saturday when the Oklahoma City Thunder travel to the Toyota Center. Oklahoma City is 22-6 on the season, which is second place in the Western Conference behind the Los Angeles Clippers. The game starts at 8 p.m. ET, with coverage on CSN Houston.

The Spurs will take on the third Texas team this weekend, as they travel to the American Airlines Center on Sunday to face the Dallas Mavericks. The Mavericks play an earlier home game this weekend, welcoming the Denver Nuggets to Dallas on Friday night.
