2012 Chick-fil-A Bowl: LSU vs. Clemson odds and lines

LSU is currently a five-point favorite over the Clemson Tigers heading into the Chick-fil-A Bowl.

Beth Hall-USA TODAY Sports

Just about every team that has played the LSU Tigers this season have come in as underdogs, with the Tigers boasting one of the best teams in the country. The trend will continue into the final game of the season as the Tigers face off against Clemson in the Chick-fil-A Bowl, with LSU currently a five-point favorite.

LSU's national title hopes were dashed only by a loss to No. 1 Alabama and an earlier close loss to the No. 10 Florida Gators in Gainesville. They are among the top teams in the nation in both offense and defense, and the line is likely only as close as it is -- the opening line had the Tigers as a three-point favorite and it was since stretched to give -- is because the Tigers have had a tendency to get into very close games only to win in the end this year.

Their games have included a 12-10 win over Auburn and a 20-13 squeaker over Arkansas. Even their two losses were both by eight points or fewer.

Clemson also only lost two games during the season, to No. 4 Florida State and No. 12 South Carolina, but had a much easier overall year than LSU with games against teams like Duke and Maryland on the schedule.
