According to SB Nation's Chris Dobbertean, the University of Texas Longhorns have a shot at making it into the NCAA tournament as a No. 13 seed team by defeating the Miami Hurricanes in the First Four games in Dayton, Ohio. Dobbertean's latest projections have the Longhorns facing off against the Hurricanes, another potential 13-seed team, in Dayton and the winner would take the 13th seed in the East bracket where they would play No. 4 seed Michigan. If they would happen to get out of the first round with a win, they would then face the winner between Seton Hall (No. 12) and San Diego State (No. 5).
The Longhorns (16-9, 6-6 Big 12) have won their last three games in a row. In their final six regular season games, they play two ranked opponents (Baylor and Kansas) but in the other four games they play Oklahoma twice (13-11, 3-9 Big 12), Oklahoma State (12-13, 5-7 Big 12) and Texas Tech (8-16, 1-11 Big 12). If the Longhorns can beat the teams they should beat and maybe defeat either Baylor or Kansas, they could put themselves in a position where they wouldn't get knocked out of the tournament before the tournament really starts.
The Longhorns take on the Sooners at 8 p.m. (ET) on Tuesday night.
