MLB Draft 2012: Weekend Stat Leaders In College Ranks

Baseball America's always-insightful recap of the weekend of top draft picks has some great stuff. Here are some of its top performers from last week:

↵

Michael Wacha, Texas A&M, RHP - 9 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 8 Ks

↵

Mike Zunino, Florida, C - .383, 2 HRs (9)

↵

Andrew Heaney, Oklahoma State, LHP - 9 IP, 7 H, 2 R, 0 BB, 13 Ks

↵

Mark Appel, Stanford, RHP - 9 IP, 6 H, 2 R, 2 BB, 7 Ks

↵

Kyle Zimmer, San Francisco, RHP - 9 IP, 5 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 9 Ks

↵

Deven Marrero, Arizona State, SS - .300, 2B (2)

↵

Probably only Appel, Zimmer and Zunino are under consideration for the top pick, but all the rest are interesting players. I like both Marrero and Wacha, but don't think either will be around for Houston's supplemental pick and have enough flaws not to be considered for the top spot.
